The Amiral Ronarc'h frigate is expected in Dunkerque for the Sea Festival and celebrations marking 400 years of the French Navy. The ship, which measures 121.6 meters long, will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will be able to discover the facilities and equipment of the frigate, as well as the activities and animations proposed by the crew. The Amiral Ronarc'h frigate is the first of five new FDI ships built by the Naval Group shipyard. It was delivered on October 17 and has already completed a 123-day long deployment. The ship is crewed by 132 sailors and is capable of reaching a speed of 27 knots. It is equipped with a Sea Fire radar system, a Kingklip Mk2 sonar, and a Captas-4 sonar. The Amiral Ronarc'h frigate can carry 16 Aster 15 and Aster 30 surface-to-air missiles and 8 Exocet MM40 Block3c anti-ship missiles. The rest of the armament includes a 76mm turret, two 20mm remote-controlled guns, 12.7mm machine guns, and four MU90 torpedo tubes. The Amiral Ronarc'h can also carry a helicopter and an aerial drone.
